The government expects industrial rollout of 5G solutions to start in India by August-September this year.

Union priest Ashwini Vaishnaw on Thursday made the very first 5G contact a test network set up at IIT Madras using indigenously-developed telecommunications gears.

The 5G test-bed has been developed as a multi-institute joint project by 8 institutes led by IIT Madras.
